USGBC Ranks Massachusetts Fourth for LEED

National – The U.S. Green Building Council has announced the 2019 Top 10 States for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

Massachusetts is a leader in green building and ranked fourth on the list. In 2019, 101 projects were certified, representing 3.74sf of LEED-certified space per resident.

The states that made this year’s Top 10 are home to 105 million Americans, and the more than 1,100 buildings that certified in 2019 represent more than 312 million gross square feet of space.

Buildings that are LEED-certified create healthier spaces for people, use less energy and water, reduce carbon emissions, and help create a better standard of living for people.
